I didn't drink coffee for years as I don't like the taste of instant. My wife bought a cheap Dolce Gusto pod machine a couple of years ago, I tried one and really liked it. I then bought a Delonghi bean to cup machine and the taste was much improved, as someone posted above pod coffee now tastes a bit 'fast food', buying beans is far cheaper than pods too.

See... you would have been better off (financially) if you stayed with instant data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Sweetener in coffee?!

Nooooooooo

That's almost as bad as having it in tea!

Can't tell the difference and I don't smoke so it's not that.

No sugar or sweetener in any hot drink. Takes the actual taste away from what you are drinking.

Dont know about that. For some, its an enhancement of the overall flavour and enjoyment, not unlike salt and pepper on a steak or sugar on a fresh cut grapefruit. It changes the taste yes, but doesn't take it away IMO .

I used to have sugar in both tea and coffee but once you've weaned yourself off, the drink is better for it. Especially in tea. It's well worth persevering with giving the sweet stuff up

Sometimes I add a little honey in my coffee but mostly it's sugar free.

Same. Very rarely these days but honey was how I weaned myself off sugar.
