I find, but I'm not sure if this is generally true for everyone, that I will drink far less coffee (in volume) if the coffee is really good coffee. A good double espresso, lungo or Americano is so much more filling/satisfying. Not sure if this is perhaps because the caffeine content is higher?
There's also some research that suggests that coffee is pretty good for you; Coffee Health Benefits: Research on Type 2 Diabetes, Cancer, Stroke, and More Also I've seen research that indicates that coffee protects against prostrate cancer - I think the benefits are increase greatly the fresher the coffee is though so instant probably doesn't apply.

I have been using granulated Aspartame sweetener for a couple of months now, I can't really tell the difference from what was my usual unbleached golden granulated, I've gave it to everyone who has had a brew round here too and not 1 has said anything.
I used to drink endless amounts of Nescafe but always thought it was rough ass, went through near every instant available and wasn't happy with any of them.

I agree with above^^
I drink 2 good quality cups of coffee a day. I used to have 3/4/5 cups when it was instant or otherwise!

Yeah I have one or two max per day of the good stuff. I'll drink tea if I fancy another hot drink.

I'd be careful with that. I know it is in a lot of stuff, but there are various things floating around for years saying how bad it is. I wouldn't voluntarily add it to anything.

I've heard scare stories but the over zelous fda says it's fine.
"Considering results from the large number of studies on aspartame's safety, including five previously conducted negative chronic carcinogenicity studies, a recently reported large epidemiology study with negative associations between the use of aspartame and the occurrence of tumors, and negative findings from a series of three transgenic mouse assays, FDA finds no reason to alter its previous conclusion that aspartame is safe as a general purpose sweetener in food"

Fair enough. They seem to change their mind yearly (general governing bodies), which is enough reason for me to believe that they simply don't know. I still consume it in stuff like Coke, but don't add it to anything if I can avoid it.
Do you not have sugar due to the calories?

Er sort of but not predominately, I'm only just over 12st and 5"10', there is only 15 cal in a spoonfull anyway against 2 for the sweetner, I don't have sugar in anything else and never more than 4 cups of coffee a day, and all drinks in here are no added sugar, it's for the children really I don't want them hooked on sugar and as their only young I thought it would be good for them.
I need a good Roasted and pre ground coffee atm until my Delonghi is fixed, it's only 1 year 8 months old, a micro switch has gone somewhere, the one that detects the grounds container, it made me a coffee than said "empty grounds container" like it does when it's full, so I emptied it, put it back in and it still says "insert grounds container" unpowered it and left it unplugged for 24 hours and as soon as it's back on it says the same again, I am not a happy camper.

I'm surprised that no one here went for this which was selling in the classified section.
Nice machine and I was so tempted.
