4.7MWh in one quarter, wow. More than I do in a year, in fact, if I did that in 18 months I'd be happy. How big is your install?

willoone Publish time 26-11-2019 03:44:57

Kitch youmust have a massive system to produce that amount I did that amount in one year

Kitch Publish time 26-11-2019 03:44:57

We have a 14kw system, 49 panels. Happy with the production so far although the FIT rate is only 11.4p :-(

SteveCritten Publish time 26-11-2019 03:44:58

How come you get FIT on that big a system I thought the FIT only paid on systems 4kw or lower? Is it a commercial instal?

Kitch Publish time 26-11-2019 03:44:58

Fit isn't limited by size of install on domestic, it's a limitation set by the power supplier/grid. You have to gain permission for anything over 4kw. Not quote me on this but this is what I was told.
It's domestic, we have built an eco house, so it all works in combination with our other renewables.

SteveCritten Publish time 26-11-2019 03:44:58

I didn't know that. I may increase mine then. Why do the power supplier limit it I wonder?

stephenc Publish time 26-11-2019 03:44:58

If you increase yours, iirc, you move on to the new FIT Rates for your entire system, not just the new bits. Which is why I'm staying on 4kw at 51p
