Really thinking its time to take another look at the Tesla powerwall.

Been looking but needs to come down in price.

I was at a energy efficiency conference recently and the powerwall has had a software up grade recently according to the rep. This will allow the battery to take charge overnight at the lower rate of 4-5p per unit and then discharge that during the day supplementing the power from your panels. On checking the website I couldn't find any mention of this though.
I'dbe interested in this but the cost of the battery outweighs any benefits for me at the moment as we have gas heating and are not high users ofelectricity.

Just got out FIT payment for the quarter, & we're down £30 on last year, & almost £60 on 2016. Dire this year!

To make tings worse, our electric transformer (on the supply pole) has blown up! We are now on a diesel generator that can not take our solar or it trips the generator out above 5kw.
Really need a battery back up solution, wish Tesla would hurry up with their gateway switch to allow off grid supply.

Sun starting to come out to play.....
Unfortunatley had a two week downtime due to our local transformer blowing up! Had a diesel generator as back up for two weeks, tried the solar on the Friday (you can see on the graph) but it tripped the generator out once above 5kw!

this month is shaping up to be the best May we've had since we installed in Nov 2011......i'm a proper nerd when it comes to stats and although I have a GeoChorus PV that uses Energynote to give me analysis ofgeneration and general usage, playing with the numbers definitely gives me good insight into how things haev been performing.

How big is your install?

I had panels installed in November and was a little disappointed over the first few months. However, late April and May have cheered me up a bit.
