I don't think there is any prospect of a referendum in the short term as there simply isn't the support for it at present (polls are showing those for remain fixed at 45%). The issue will come to head though once the Brexit deal is known as that may just increase the desire for independence. Whether that will outweigh the very valid economic points made by Jason though is unclear.

Oh great, more refugees data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
End of the Barnett formula, higher supermarket prices (distribution cost the rest of the UK subsidies), highways maintenance etc.

I'm sure others have stated that independence is something worth fighting for regardless of financial consequences

There have been mutterings of independence in Shetland over the gas fields there, particularly a large one which is coming online.
How far does itgo?

Yes they have. The problem is that when Scotland goes bankrupt it will be the rUK that has to bail them out. (Like we did with Ireland). We in England have too much at stake to just let it happen.

From a position of having a viable economy to fall back on data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
What would Scotland fall back on?

What isn't?Where would Scotland get it's money if it left the UK?It would be queuing up behind Greece, Italy and Spain for EU handouts.
