The Trump Presidency- After the First 100 days
In the first week we have seen more executive orders and proclamations from Trump than is usual for Presidents in the 100 days. (13 so far)Today it was a ban on entry from seven Muslim countries and refugees. Many reports today about Muslim's facing difficulty flying to the States.
Other Trump changes...
The 'Mexican' wall will go ahead.
Obamacare is being de-constructed.
TPP trade agreement
Regulation Freeze (environment)
No funding for Abortion
Dakota pipeline to go ahead
Speed up deportation for 'illegals'
Our PM was the first leader to visit him. She got him to confirm support for NATO. Whether that will hold, I don't know
It has been a busy week for sure. And if you are an opponent of Trump, a very worrying one.... Ah, at last, a thread about the new US president with a title without emotive rancour.
data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Nobody can complain he is not doing what he promised.
That shows he is not a professional politician.. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Rubbish. Who on earth thinks he'll last 100 days. Donald of a hundred days.
data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Well so far so good, he's not blown up the World or started WWIII.
As for the wall ? "In response to Trump's executive order to build the wall..."We'll build a tunnel and make the Americans pay for it! - The Cartels" That's a joke from a Mexican friend who lives in the US. Looks like Trump is running into trouble. A Federal Judge blocks Trump's ban on some Muslim countries.
The 90-day ban applies to Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Some are asking why he has selected these countries and I would say all of them, except Iran, are unstable, or at war, and contain many terrorists.
Other countries, such as Afghanistan, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, do have governments with a certain amount of control and security co-operation.
By the way, this is not the first time countries have been banned. Most Arab counties ban people connected with Israel, or even have an Israeli stamp in their passport.
Trumps has encountered his first legal block. Is this just the start? His willy waving exec order claimed Obamacare was "Executive Overreach", yet now his unilateral exec orders, memoranda and proclamations, all or many seemingly signed on camera with Magna Carta like pomposity/pageantry, appear to look like he could be overreaching bigly with the executive branch, ignoring the legislature and judiciary and ruling by decree.
Yes this is just the start of many legal challenges to the executive branch (never mind various other legal challenges on ethics violations etc). Had to smile at a reporter yesterday quoting some mexican he'd interviewed...
"Build a 50 ft wall and we will build a 51 ft ladder"
data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 I think there are 16 countries who practice this and dont accept Israeli passports or passports of people who have Israeli stamps in them: Algeria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan. Saudi Arabia, Sudan, UAE and Yemen. Some of them have previously also expelled their Jewish communities when they didnt agree to convert to Islam.
