Speaking as a non-national, I can see instigator's point. However I can't really talk because the Irish are the biggest bunch of angry begrudgers you're ever likely to come across. It's endemic to the British Isles, I think. Generally speaking, we'd rather drag one another down to the same level than encourage anyone to achieve anything. You are. The yacht isn't being given to the Queen. It would remain the countries and most of the time would be paying its way. Aside from the Queen if it was being used my sea cadets, or the PM, or for trade, or as a hospital ship would you still be objecting or is it the Royal association alone that kicked you off?
