I know you were, as I geeky computer kid growing up in 80's (I was 11 when that film was released) I loved it....... and was extremely disappointed that you couldn't phreak the phones like Mathew Broderick did in the films anymore .... although many years later as I later learnt how to do so in many, many ways when I was CCNP certified for Voice and Telephony data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Nothing like watching the face of a collegue as his manager gets a text message from him about how he fancies his wife where even if the police and the telephone company were to investigate, it still indicates the message came from the collegues phone that no one else touched or had access to.
Ofc I admitted doing it straight away as it was merely a joke and the collegue and manager could take it.
But Mathew Broderick set me down that path all those years ago data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Who knows, if these real world War Games go on much longer, we might get a remake.

I've already got the beginnings of a script.

How about hackers attempt to break into Donald Trumps twitter account to send stupid, offencive and aggressive tweets that escalate the tension both in the US and with the rest of the world ...... then realise they can't actually think of anything worse than what Trump actually tweets on a regular basis.

Oh crap, will Trump be able to restrain himself now? Also does KJU have a death wish?

maybe it's all just a willy waving contest to try to keep his own people in check.

how much knowledge of the realities of the world outside DPRK do its citizens have, considering they are pretty much in the dark to it? it could be (probably is)that they genuinely believe they are the world's greatest superpower, and the western world are running scared.

all those north koreans going about their daily lives not realising the hornet's nest their glorious leader constantly jabbing with his political stick has enough might to turn their entire nation into glass.
