Are we indeed meant to say sorry even if it's not meant, further evidence the centre ground politics is disappearing up its politically correct backside.

She didn't apologise though did she. Her carefully scripted and doctored apology was half hearted.

That was my point. Ken could have done a mealy mouth apology to save the labour party from more turmoil.
But he is old school and if he doesn't want to apologise, he won't pretend to. Unlike Naz Shah. He wants to be true to himself. Even though his comments were offensive to many.

For clarity, she insulted and referred to the people of Israel, obviously the Jewish ones but only managed to offer an apology to the UK Jewish community. I await her proper and full apology.

Hitler was a socialist in much the same way that Derek Acorah claims he communicates with the dead.

Getting elected has always been about appealing to/appeasing as wide an audience as possible.Politicians rarely say what they think, unless it happens to be popular opinion, and saying sorry when you don't mean it is no different.

Perhaps Ken should pay this place a visit. The reason why Israelis will fight to the death to protect the country of their birth.   The metal shoes represent the Hungarian Jews who were murdered and dumped in the Danube, just by the Hungarian Parliament.                                                                        https://www.avforums.com/attachments/20140616_140618-jpg.709708/       Parliament.

The 'night of the long knives' showed his socialism was false. Not sure, but I think that is the time all the left-wing elements of the Nazi party were executed or suppressed (under the name of 'Socialism' of course).

That's probably why John Mann said she should visit Israel to learn about the effects of the conflict on ordinary Israeli's and then to engage with Jewish groups to learn about anti semitism. I'd go one step further and make her visit Auschwitz. Which I think all MP's should do at some point anyway.

You appeal to your core vote first, then have to try and bridge the gap between them and the floating voters. That's where problems usually tend to roar into life for Party Leaders.

As for Corbyn ? From what a few Jewish friends have been saying, it's unlikely they will feel comfortable enough to vote for Labour as they see him as part of the problem on the left. Others are in two minds over the issue.
