I'd be interested in what people think about "too late" 's current comments in the shaz thread in GC.That's not an invitation to pile in BTW.

Just switched over to GC.
He made lots of remarks about history, religion, Naz S was it anti Semitism etc but I'm guessing you are inviting comment on the need to keep AVF posts reasonably PC so not to offend sponsors?

That's arisen more recently, I was more interested in the "I don't give a sh*t about the Holocaust, because it happened before I was born" attitude.

There is not evil an ever happened that has not lessened over time, unfortunate consequence of immortality, as living witnesses pass to wherever they want to go, so does the raw emotion of their experience. The tactic used by the poster in GC is extenuation of what happens here all time and wider media on many issues.

There's a lot of it about these days, so often on TV when a young person on a game show panel is asked a question the response is 'that was before I was born'. It's now used as an excuse because they don't know the answer.

'Too Late' seems to be a young person who is a little frustrated about his ignorance. Possibly down to teenage petulance.

Been there and seen that sculpture. It's extremely moving. Particularly because some of the shoes are very small...

I like how the Germans have placed their holocaust memorial next to the Reichstag - as a permanent reminder that words aren't just words; they are the DNA of ideas which once set free in the wild ultimately can lead to some terrible actions. Those in power have a duty to remember that.

I just wish Shah and Livingstone shared the same view.

Yet try and remind Israels current leaders to remember the lessons of the Holocaust and you get called an antisemite.
