ROTFLI wonder if the C of E have Leviticus covered with plain brown paper. Proper top shelf Bible stuff. No wonder Python couldn't resist. There is an entire satirical film in that one chapter........but I was only washing the car.

I always find it interesting when people with little real knowledge about huge texts start quoting tiny portions out of context.
Personally, I'm still amazed that no one has proposed the blindingly obvious on this.Full equal rights, different name. No one has any issue with saying men and women are equal, without having to insist on women being allowed to call themselves men.
Man/woman.Husband/wife. Marriage/?The gay community have proved themselves to be intelligent and inventive when it comes to terminology - let them have a go at this.
I'm deeply suspicious of Cameron. It wasn't too long ago that the Conservative Party was against the equalising of the ages of consent for straight and gay sex. Most of the Conservative MPs who voted on that issue are still in the commons.

So even if we dismiss Leviticus because its old Testament, the Cof E from Sonics link makes it pretty clear.
Para 3.that homosexual genital acts also fall short of this ideal, and are likewise to be met by a call to repentance and the exercise of compassion;
Not much room for manoeuvre there then...
It's not as easy as 'dismissing it because its OT'.
I also think that reading CofE literature from outside is dangerous.I'll give reasons if necessary.
