Welsh Ministers (Who live in a bubble) were shocked that Wales voted leave and I know they would welcome a huge cash injection from the EU.
Why should the EU take on Wales?
It would cost them money and there isn't any clear advantage to having Wales in the EU.
It's not a case of the EU taking on Wales. Plaid Cymru have suggested an independence referendum post Brexit. If Wales did become independent they'd need money. Not that Westminster would have Wales leave of course, but you never know.
Ireland is in the EU, why not Wales?
Because now the EU is big enough plus they are interested in Eastern Europe and have been giving a lot of money in different ways to get them to join.
Wales doesn't offer any economic, political or strategic advantages unless you can suggest them.
Plus there would be a land border to deal with.
So what does Ireland offer apart from being a tax haven for multinationals?
And Wales does have a lot of natural resources. Not just Sheep.

Lots of Irish beef and butter etc are exported to the UK.
It isn't easy to find information on Welsh natural resources, certainly coal was a major one.
Maybe you could enlighten me?
