So the UK today is "flawed" because of the actions of people long dead?

So the actions of Russia in recent years should see us keep silent, unless we somehow do something to satisfy empire guilt trippers that we are suitably contrite?

How do you propose we express that contrition, and who is the arbiter on when we would then be allowed to critique the current day actions of others?

Criticizing, in this instance, Israel and her governments policies is fine as long as we are dealing in truth, facts and balance, things that are always missing from that topic and this thread.

I cant blame certain people, its not their fault, as they are only fed what the media wish to tell them and driven by that medias agenda and narrative. Obviously there are some people regardless of the truth and facts, who only wish to demonstrate hate and bias and are not worth engaging with.

If anybody really thinks that peace and a workable two state solution will come though ignoring historical facts, expressing lies, distortions and a complete one sided view, they are wrong.

But like I said its not, in the main, their fault.....

Understand what you are saying and is quite correct if one is viewing history from, for example, the moon. In other words, viewing worldwide history without any reference to a particular country of origin.

Everybody comes from somewhere, even if they move from one country to another. Even if a person has nationalistic leanings to another country and not the country currently living in.
So it stands to reason that (for example) a Scottish person living in South Africa will have nationalistic and patriotic feelings for Scotland. Also, will defend and honour the history of Scotland up to the kilt.

What you are saying is theoretically correct but in practice unworkable. Unfortunately we are human with all the flaws, feelings and expressions of superiority. And that includes you.

So I, together with most people, am quite prepared to critique other nations, but also gloss over (sweep under the carpet) the historical flaws and current errors of the country of my origin.

This is interesting , blame everyone and everything apart from the ones that support you and do not critisize the State of Israel //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/facepalm.gif. Although they seem fine and dandy with Alt right if it does not touch home base .

In an MSNBC interview, Ron Dermer, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S., blamed “both sides” for what has become the largest attack on Jews on American soil in history. While it makes sense that anti-Semitism would become more prevalent among racist white supremacists and the next generation of Nazis, it’s unclear who on the left he is attempting to blame for the 11 Jewish members of the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh Saturday.

“I see a lot of bad people on both sides who attack Jews,” Dermer said. “This is not the first time a Jewish person — there was an attack in 2006. There was an attack in 2014 against the Jewish community center in Kansas.”

The host interjected to say he’s aware of the attacks on Jewish people in America; he’s was asking about the rhetoric.

“I think the problem is that when people attribute anti-Semitism to one side of the political debate, they make a very big mistake,” Dermer said. “The person we should blame is the anti-Semite… The difference in this president is that he has Jews in his family. So, I think there’s no question in my mind that he wants to confront the anti-Semites. I hope that people on both sides of the political aisle will put politics aside and will work together to confront anti-Semitism.”

“One of the big forces in college campuses today is anti-Semitism,” Dermer said. “And those anti-Semites are usually not neo-Nazis, on college campuses. They’re coming from the radical left. We have to stand against anti-Semitism whether it comes from the right or whether it comes from the left.”

But we stand by the ones , whoever if they keep feeding That $$$$ . What a load of old bollocks .

Goes hand in hand with Bibi's response to Charlottesville and his thick as pigsh*t son Yair sticking up for Trump's defence of those fine people chanting "Jews will not replace us".
