Well I bought the first three George Martin books on eBay and they were BCA editions. Expected, and I normally would have asked for pictures but spotted them late and only had a few hours before auctions ended. One is going back as it was more beat up than indicated, while books one and two (not bad but different sizes!) have gone straight back on eBay.

My first venture into buying 1st/signed books was King of Thorns from Goldsboro...mine was numbered 121...only got about 100 or so pages left.

As others have said, really impressed with Goldsboro, will be using them again. Arrived in perfect condition data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Did you get the first one already then?

Yeah, read the first one but it was only a standard paperback version.

Well welcome to the club, and clear some space off your shelves data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Then give the paperback version to a mate to read and grab this so you have a matching pair - unsure if its a 1st, but it says hardback....

Well, I sold them (at a loss data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 ) then packed them really well (again, at another loss to me data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 )but then bagged a proof edition of a book on ebay, spending less than my highest bid by more or less the amount of money I lost on the books themselves and the extra postage, so it kind of comes out even.

Alls well that ends well and I will add more details when it arrives. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Edit: Oh, and my Shadow of a Dark Queen has been declared lost and I am just waiting for the bookshop owners to come back from holiday data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

3 more arrived for me today, which I wasn't expecting!Goldsboro again, who are rapidly turning into my only choice for ultra-modern first editions data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The Falcons of Fire and Ice by Karen Maitland (signed and dated) - I like her editions as they're a bit different, no dust covers.
The Dusk Watchman by Tom Lloyd (signed and dated)
The City's Son by Tom Pollock (signed and dated)
