I take it they used fuel system cleaner ? If so pretty pointless unless they drained your system first and put fresh fuel in ,although in my opinion the majority of these so called cleaners are a waste of time in modern engines
Last time I visited my Honda main dealer they recommended I got the air con cleaned and some fancy treatment for the fuel injectors. Something like£100 on a 15 year old car.I declined.

The EGR Value was replaced about 6 months back (not by them) which i didn't mind as i got 100k out of it, So when they recommend the fuel filter change and fuel cleaner in the tank i had no objections to it as i saw no harm.

Quick update
Letter has gone off from the lawyer informing them that I will be making a claim etc and asking for more details (work records etc for time spent on the van), with a more detailed letter to follow. Most importantly it says all further communications must be via the lawyer.
There is grounds for including fraud as part of any claim so in the meantime I am doing more research on the brake pipes.
Would I be correct in saying that the correct name for the brake pipes is the brake line?
I need to order in the front brake pipes from a ford garage so as I have the approved part to compare against the how they have done it, if I say front brake pipes will they know or will that get me the front brake hose pipes?
Would I be right in saying that the genuine ford part will be a steel pipe and that by the sounds of it they have used copper instead?
Ok ,firstly I dont think you can getevery replacement brake pipe from Ford so be warned .
Yes Ford might refer to it as a brake Line ,but in general its a brake PIPE ,and the rubber hydraulic hoses are obviously known as hoses .
Everybody uses Copper pipe when replacing original fit pipes ,its actually much better than steel for 2 reasons, firstly corrosion resistance , 2nd ,its much softer than steel ,so its much easier to bend to shape when making the new pipes up .
So I honestly think you are wasting your time if the basis of your complaint is the use of Copper over steel ,the company I work for looks after hundreds of vehicles for major utilities companies andevery brake pipe replacement is done with copper pipe ,unless the pipe is available off the shelf (which is very rare these days)
It's not about whether copper is better than steel (it might well be), it's about establishing a pattern.
A ford approved repair centre should only use genuine ford parts, fine for an independent to use 3rd party but not a dealership.
If as I suspect they have made their own brake pipes instead of using the genuine ford parts, then it is reasonable to question if they have used genuine ford parts on other things or are they 3rd party also as a pattern has already been established
