Completely OTT at this stage? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

If the inspection finds nothing wrong then i will have no objection as it will have been confirmed to be safe, if he does find something wrong...

Its all a pain in the arse that i would rather have just avoided, however with there attitude of everything was done right (even though they admitted the missing wheel nut) and that there was zero possibility of something else being missed, I have to allow for it going to court now. Booking it in for an inspection today/tomorrow to double check their work would have prevented all of this and was all i wanted.

Edit
Personally, if someone had an issue with the safety of a boiler install i had done, i would drop everything to rush over to inspect, not try and fob them off. But each to their own.

Does that letter even tell them what you want? I died 3 deaths reading it

Cocksure Publish time 24-11-2019 22:47:02

No, its just to inform them that i am having there work inspected, nothing more at this stage.

The guy who is doing it does such inspections for a living and he informed me of the need to notify them about it. If they find nothing then that will be the end of the matter, if they do then i will go back to them with the report and then listing what I'm after.

Whilst i would prefer it to not go to court and it all get resolved (if required) out of court, if it does go to court and any report/expert is used, then the court might not accept any report produced if they haven't had the above notification. Its all about ticking boxes.

They're meant to be a pig of a job to do, I have a thread over in the motoring section where a poster there said he would always pass on transit brake related work which just leaves the big players (and matching costs data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

Could be shorter and more succinct.

He's been driving around with a brake pad warning light on for 2 years. New brakes are often spongy until they have bedded in.
It's probably massively safer than when he took it in. They should have a look at it, but it's probably not a safety issue.

Too verbose, much of what is said is irrelevant or superfluous; you say you want to settle the matter amicably but are threatening legal action. Cut it down to one page.

Have you given them the opportunity to rectify the steering wheel alignment & spongy brakes?
