Opinions are like arseholes! We all have one. Continuing with the same theme it looks like the lunatics have already taken over the asylum with the current shambles  within Westminster.

If you've been a regular in this section, you shouldn't have to look too far

Otherwise you could pop round to Nigel or Tommy's for a chat

It wasn't the right wing of the Tory party that voted leave though was it. The seeds of dissension amongst certain parts of the voters was sown along time before Cameron was a twinkle in the eye of the Conservative leadership. The issue of leave or remain in the Eu always has divided party politics.
That really is the issue, on the one hand surrender power to the EU or render the democratic process of this sovereign country null and void by ignoring and then manipulating the will of the people. Its a perfect example of Condorcet’s paradox, the theory of democracy and how the collective decision making process in this instance has lead to a democratic trilemma.

Doesn’t matter who voted leave. The reason for holding the referendum still applies. Your example of surrendering power and sovereignty is interesting and is often quoted by the usual suspects. By your analysis all EU countries are surrendering their power and sovereignty. You conveniently forget that as EU members our representatives are involved in the decision making process. The Maastricht Treaty recognised that the UK was not willing to surrender its economic and fiscal independence. It’s a far from perfect political structure then who are we to criticise when we have an unelected assembly as part of our system.

The real issue is the future economic welfare and security of the UK. In my opinion this is best served by being part of the EU.
