That's amazing you stayed in Carberry. When I was young I spent many happy years playing there and also ended up working part time at a Riding School just behind the Hotel and then worked part time at a Turkey Farm 200 yards further up the road. My mum worked at a Candlemakers in the same estate and for a few years before the Big House was converted in to a Hotel my Dad was night watchman there.I come from the small mining village of Whitecraig which is just down the hill from Carberry. In fact Whitecraig evolved from the village of Deantown. So now you know how I got my name. Happy days.

Very reasonably priced for such a place.

Great read again . Out of interest how did this compare to your USA trips excluding flights cost wise?

Accommodation was pretty much similar to what we pay in the US costing £75 to £135 per night for the two of us. Food, drink and particularly fuel were dearer of course. But knocking off the flights and car hire made it a comparatively cheap holiday. I know the Euro isn't that great but we are contemplating Ireland next year if the US exchange doesn't improve.

Really enjoyed that, just spent an enjoyable 30mins on your journey and lots of happy memories
We enjoy this trip, but living in Dundee we do the opposite direction and  enjoy a few spots you never mentioned so I might have to emulate your posts to show the puffins, Dolphins ( among others ) and a few museums and castles along the way.
But thanks for reminding me summer isn't very far away and better go dust off the Nikon
