Edinburgh. So pleased we choose to stay outside. The traffic was chocka.
Got the train in.

Then decided the walk was too much, and got a bus to the Royal Yacht. I'll just choose a few of the many pics.

Into town again.

Then to the castle.

Back into town.

Bit weird.

Cocktail wizardry.

Then more here.

Then after dinner a dash for the train. Seems it rained. Snapped this on the way to the station.

Back home now. Glasgow to Edinburgh was about 1300 miles.

On the way home we went to Lindisfarn, Holy Island.
Tide was in our favour.

Remarkably clear for the North Sea.

Climbed a small hill that overlooks the Priory grounds.

Great views from the watchtower on the hill.

Didn't bother with the castle due to the scaffold.

Felt like St Frances when the cake came out.

Final stop for a stretch on the way home was the lighthouse at Whitley Bay.

Yep, we had a great time thanks. Don't know why we waited so long to visit Scotland. Lovely places, friendly people and we found the roads and places quiet, apart from the cities which were busy.

And yes, it is good to settle down on my own sofa.

Can you do India on a rickshaw next year - we need to tick that one off as well.
