It panned out as anticipated, it's very very hard to fight against someone with such good range, straight shots and footwork. Haye should have taken more risks from round 9 onward. Whether he left on his back or lost on points, it makes little difference. He may have had to take a few shots to get his off but he was miles behind on points anyway.
I don't see why he wouldn't fight Vitali as well. As a minimum they will get 50k in an Arena in Germany (say £4-5m ) and a fair number of PPV. If he wins then he can call for a rematch, if he loses then he retires with a few million extra quid in the bank. It's not like there are many top heavyweights out there. |
