I'd disagree there. If the next man is someone with a personality then he definitely is a lot less personable!

And certainly makes no sense if it's in relation to my comment about his personality.  I'm Irish so I couldn't give a hoot if he's English, Scottish,  Welsh or anything else.

I just think he comes across as a lifeless drip!

Has to be Wiggins.

Tour De France winner and Olympic medalist in the same year.

The case rests (and wins)

1. Wiggins
2. Farah
3. Murray

Ennis should of won it in 09 when she won the world title when instead it became a 'lifetime achievement award' for Ryan Giggs.  This year however she's been (in my eyes) beaten by those 3 who have done something never achieved before by a Brit or in Murray's case not for decades.

Wiggins. First Brit to win Tour de France. Outstanding achievement followed up with Olympic Gold.

Has to win it in my view.

Other candidates mentioned in this thread all worthy (Ennis, Farah, Murray). But Wiggins is #1 for me.

Sir Chris Hoy a candidate too in my view.

As for the Murray debate - he's a proud Scot and a proud Brit who likes to see England get beat in a sporting context. Just like me, nothing wrong there   Don't take it so seriously.

David Weir has to be in with a shout. His achievement winning so many golds at various distances was just incredible.

That's a fair point. A Rangers great, still playing at 40, deserves the award for that alone, did well for Everton too....

More seriously, you are correct. Dave Weir is definitely in with a shout, he performed brilliantly in the Paralympics. I'd still vote Wiggins for the Tour victory personally but Weir must be a finalist.

I think the Team GB Paralympic team will win team of the year.....l

Murray doesn't have a personality so would count him out.
Wiggins has to be the winner. To win the Tour de France is one of the greatest sporting achievements ever. Farah and Ennis runners up.
Bolt overseas sports personality.
Definitely spoilt for choice this year.
Never watched any Paralympics so dont know any of them.
