Just as an update to my SMS problem, it has been escalated to Apple engineer and they will get back to me next week.  Obviously I could return the watch but I don't know how long for a replacement.

It's a software problem, not hardware. I'm sure someone will come up with a fix soon enough.

Yeah. I kinda agree, it's just no one else seems to have the problem.

So what does apple care cover?

If I dropped the watch and it cracked or shattered would it be covered. Not taken care cover before?

Hey, I installed Forza football results, my phone keeps dinging but not receiving and alerts on the watch? Checked settings and notifications are on, anyone else using the app?

Yes that's how i understand it "AppleCare  for Apple Watch Sport is an insurance product that provides expert telephone technical support (1) and up to two years (2) of additional hardware coverage, including up to two incidents of accidental damage, each subject to a £49 excess fee (3)."
