Interesting. I have a Surface Pro (1) and I was curious to see whether the SP4 would be significantly better. Even for the SP1 something they have done recently has wrecked its sleep battery life.
For anyone looking to use a Surface as a tablet, Windows 10 is a step backwards. It's a great desktop/laptop OS but any small amount of tablet friendliness was removed, and tricks to conserve battery life (like suspending background processes in metro mode) went with them.
They are still very nicely executed hardware devices, and as tablet form-factor laptops they are great. But it is really strange how badly they are supported for a range of nagging bugs considering it is Microsoft's own design. You'd think they would run like silk. |
