galaxy-tab-s5e

Available for pre-order, (includes free 512 gb SD card).

£379 for wi-fi only model, £429 for 4G.

Display: 10.5-inch 2560x1600 Super AMOLED
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 670
Thickness: 5.5mm
Weight: 400g
Audio:  "AKG, Dolby Atmos surround"
Battery size: 7,040mAh "14.5 hours battery life"
Security: Face recognition and fingerprint
RAM: 4GB or 6GB (UK site advertises 6GB as an option but is not available to pre-order)
Storage: 64GB or 128GB (UK site advertises 128GB as an option but is not available to pre-order)
External memory: up to 512GB micro SD card

I would've liked to have seen the 128GB model available as a pre-order. I suspect that it won't be an option for UK customers (Samsung typically reserve the higher RAM/Storage model for the Asian market). Therefore the information on their site may be an error / copy & paste job.

Still - the pricing is competitive for a lightweight tablet.

Pre ordered, wanted the S4 but a bit pricey and don't need the pen. Also any case you buy for the S4 leaves space for the pen so makes it bulkier.

Been looking at this since it was announced, like the curved edges on the screen, the slimmer bezels, all looks really smart. Consume a lot of media on my tablet so the Amoled screen is going to be great!

Currently have a Tab A 10.1 2016, could have traded it in but only worth £50! So trading it in to Cex for £80 and will be selling the card as i really don't need that sort of space.

It's available from amazon for £429. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07P7J85MM/
Black and Wifi only, not LTE.
Samsung initially didn't show it as eligible for the 512GB card offer, but does now

Unfortunately no S5e is listed yet at John Lewis where they would come with a two year warranty.

I've had my eye on this tablet for a while but my current Tab S is 8" and I was unsure about the upgrade.
I was near our local Samsung store yesterday so I stopped in and asked if they had an S5e in yet.  They had one out back and he let me have a good look at it.
The first thing I noticed is how thin and light the tablet is.  Seriously impressive bit of kit and the speakers are amazing too considering the size.
Makes my Tab S look very old.  I resisted the temptation to pre-order as I want to trade in my old tablet but they couldn't confirm how much I'll get for it.

Will be interested to see this, the Edinburgh Samsung store had them but not a demo unit yet - the 512GB Card offer is quite tempting too - just not sure if I'd rather the stylus of the S4 or not!

Been after a tablet for a few months after my Nexus 9 went into some kind of weird boot up loop error that I couldn't fix (ironically I replaced the battery and charging port/daughterboard about 2 weeks before). Had been looking at the Samsung Tab S2 (£215) but the fact that it cant be upgraded past Android 7 concerned me.

This seems to fit the bill for me although no headphone jack was potentially a deal breaker. After reading a few reviews it does come with a usb dongle for plugging your wired headphones in so it  shouldn't be an issue.

It is a bit more money than I wanted to spend though. Might see if I can find a local Samsung store to have a look at it. Free 512gb memory card seems like a good bonus too

Finally available from John Lewis - ordered the Silver 128GB WiFI Model - would have liked a 4G model but think I'll cope with my 4G router and iPhone to tether - also means when 5G is rolled out in Edinburgh this year I can just get a 5G router!

Won't get the 512GB Card because that offer only was valid until yesterday though!

Nice! I had a text from Argos saying my order had been delayed and they'll update me when they hear from the manufacturer

John Lewis were showing "in-stock" for delivery tomorrow (to my local Waitrose) so fingers crossed! Struggling for a case though!

Hopefully then! Yeah I've been struggling for cases too, shame they aren't available when the devices are really. Found some nice ones on Amazon though but available the 30th
