Regarding the flame icon on the stat but the boiler not firing - all boilers have their own control thermostat to set the temperature of the water sent to the heating circuit, so if the water in the circuit is already hot it will not fire until the water cools down even if the room side controls are calling for heat.
Modern boilers also have minimum run times, minimum burner off times, and monitor the flow and return temps to determine loads on the system and to modulate the gas valve. So again there may be times when the room control call for heat but the boiler stays off for a period. |
