Hi,

Yes, if Roxio places cd-text on it , the Yamaha will copy it including cd-text!
Do yourself a favour ... don't try to put your 400 cd's in one big rush on the Yamaha , take your time and enjoy all

And your general question has a simple and clear answer: If it's not commercial enough, why should they create something new. Be glad if you have one , the future is all wireless & compression. Quality will be unique in the future!

Regards,
RoBoDutch

I am selling my Yamaha CDR HD1500 and was about to put it in the classified section of the site if anyone is interested.

One just sold on eBay for £280. I was thinking of asking for £250 - does that seem like a fair price?

I have a much loved HD1000. I have been using it for many a year to create uncompressed compilation CDs. I also use the analog recording facility to capture and archive to CD favorite radio programmes to 'listen again' in the car etc. Now that the line is discontinued my dilemma is how to replace the Yam if/when it packs up? I am not a pc wizard but would appreciate if you knowledgeable folk would enlighten me as to whether such recording/editing features are available out there?

I have a Yamaha CDR HD1500 and want to change the drive. I have taken out the 2 screws at the back but cannot pull out the draw. Is there a special way of doing it?

@ bucc man
As far as I know , the HD1000 can record up to 30 hours of music. I think you'd better buy a HD1500 before it's too late. In that case you can enjoy creating uncompressed compilation CD's for several more years.

@hello123
Why are you trying to put MP3-songs on a HD1500 ?
First you created MP3-songs that use a compression algorythm (and are less in quality), after that you have to make WAV's from them (you loose quality again ) and finally you will place them on a HD1500 ?????? You know how ???
Besides you'll never get quality to listen to an you'll have much time to investigate in it. If you want to use the HD1500 as a jukebox , consider to buy e.g. a WD HDTV mediaplayer. It's cheaper en you've nothing to do than put all your songs on a seperate Harddisk.

@Krasarepo
First unplug the power! Take out the 2 screws. Open the door and disconnect the power- and flatcable of the harddisk. Gently slide the harddisk out and change the drive.
Hope this will work for you.

Kind regards,
RoBoDutch

To all:
I've received an answer from CAI , the owner of the program Yamaha Assistant. Unfortunately his HD1500 is broken and he is not able to rewrite and test the Program again.
So I think this will be it! There will be no upgrade of the Program

Kind regards,
RoBoDutch

Hello RoBoDutch

Thanks for your help

I understand what you are saying that wave is the best quality however i have mp3s and don’t have the original disk so is there anyway i can put these mp3s onto the CDR HD1500 without converting each and every one of them to wave?

Hi Hello123,

Nope .... there's no other way than converting first into WAV's , unless your computer has a SP/DIF digital out. In that case you can play the music at single-speed while recording on the CDR-HD1500.
If you have several hundred of MP3- files, I think even that's the worst scenario you can think about.

Kind regards,
RoBoDutch

I would like to answer a few questions that arise on this page  :
a) The CDR_HD1500 is NOT discontinued.  It can be ordered without prob here in Belgium at 598 Euro VAT incl.

b) I myself bought a secondhand one and changed the harddisc for a brand new one (safety reasons), and choose a 500 GB version and it works (maybe only up to the 400GB limit).

c) I did not have too much problems finding a nullmodem cable, and connecting it .

However importing title information from eg Windows media player would have been helpful.
