Well done to Samsung and Huawei for innoating and doing something different. This is the biggest change in smartphones for ages. New kit is always expensive, so no surprise to the cost of either phone. Hopefully the folding phone market will grow over the years and other manufacturers will also produce folding phones. This will push the phones to be better in everyway possible, as the smartphone competition has with "regular" smartphones.

For me its too expensive to buy one, however maybe a 3rd or 4th gen version will be more to my liking.

Apparently, these are protective films over the screen that the reviewers have thought it was ok to removed. Obviously not...
Samsung are making the instructions more clearer...

The fact that it even has a film that looks like it should be removable is an issue. MKBHD said he only tried to remove the film as it was already lifting at a corner.

Hopefully it’s just a bad early batch, but I still think we are going to see lots of screen issues going forward

Definitely a PR disaster for Samsung.
At least it hasn't caught fire.

Oops...perhaps sometimes trying to be first to market isn't such a good idea...

If Samsung can't fix the screen issues, and the delay runs more than a few months....this could be the end of the folding devices, before they have even reached the shelves!

The Huawei Mate X is still on for a June release, and with Apple closely watching in the side lines, the foldable phone could end up like the 3D phones. Gone, and forgotten.

There is a reason that Apple hasn't released one yet...Just like when they did release the iPhone when touch sensitive actually was useable...There were touch phones before, I've had a few, but they were sh*t...Innovation isn't necessarily getting to market first, its about doing it right.
