Right on.
The 1080ti will be able to run many more games at 4K ultra than the 2080 because they need more than 8gb vram.
Nvidia have been stockpiling 1080ti cards for quite a while as they want people to buy the 2080 and make it appear more popular than it really is. Naughty.
As for Ray tracing. The 2080 hasnt the juice to do it at 4K and its unlikely many games will be adopting it for a long time. If ever.
Ray tracing in games will benefit less than 1% of gamers at present.
Why would devs waste money for such a small return? And PC games are always cracked and pirated. Another reason why devs won't be adopting RT.
Apart from a few reflections etc in metro that you won' even notice due to the speed of the game, you won't see any difference anywhere apart from your pocket.
The 2080ti is a bad purchase due to cost, reliability and the fact it offers little over the 1080ti. There's lab results and the real world. In the real world( what humans can actually see ) the 2080ti offers a maximum 15% Performance increase. It's largely around 10% and that is indiscernible.
The real crime is that nVidia are deliberately holding back so many 1080ti cards. That tells me they know their 2080 offers nothing over the 1080ti. In many ways it's worse. |
