Hey - hoping someone can help me fine tune a build. It's for my Dad's friend's Son and I haven't kept the most up to date with the latest parts in recent years. So far I've been told it's a £1000 budget (happy to spend all of that for the best PC) and will be used to play games like GTA V and Skyrim. Though the person it is for isn't a super hardcore gamer. This is what I've specced up so far:
Intel Core i5-4690K, MSI GeForce GTX 980, NZXT Phantom 410 (White) - System Build - PCPartPicker United Kingdom
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£169.45 @ Amazon UK)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (£59.95 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£95.87 @ More Computers)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£33.73 @ More Computers)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£59.99 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£34.39 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB Twin Frozr Video Card (£395.99 @ Amazon UK)
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case (£66.49 @ Aria PC)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80 Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (£68.99 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £984.85
That is just a quick run over for now but going to look into the Motherboard (I tend to go towards Gigabyte myself) and PSU a bit more. I've just picked the case I have for now but given them a list to look through to see what they fancy.
Monitor and OS not needed but would be nice to try and see if I can knock a bit and get a KB Mouse into the £1k. If it spills a bit over then shouldn't be an issue. OCUK have some machines that come into price range but have lesser known PSUs and a GTX 970. The upside is an Overclocked i5 however.
Any thoughts/comments/suggestions please? |
