What would you change/suggest to make this any cheaper? I've basically just worked off another build with the motherboard being a random high reviewed one that was in stock in UK! After decent 1080p 60FPS.

If you are wanting decent framerates then on a 960 you aren't going to have to turn some of the details down.  2GB is not enough memory to run GTAV for example with Very High Textures.

I know it increases your budget but have a look at GTX970.

There are cheaper SSD such as the Samsung ones out there.

Hey - hoping someone can help me fine tune a build. It's for my Dad's friend's Son and I haven't kept the most up to date with the latest parts in recent years. So far I've been told it's a £1000 budget (happy to spend all of that for the best PC) and will be used to play games like GTA V and Skyrim. Though the person it is for isn't a super hardcore gamer. That is just a quick run over for now but going to look into the Motherboard (I tend to go towards Gigabyte myself) and PSU a bit more. I've just picked the case I have for now but given them a list to look through to see what they fancy.

Monitor and OS not needed but would be nice to try and see if I can knock a bit and get a KB   Mouse into the £1k. If it spills a bit over then shouldn't be an issue. OCUK have some machines that come into price range but have lesser known PSUs and a GTX 970. The upside is an Overclocked i5 however.

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions please?

You don't need to have so much power so you get away with same range but a lower wattage one to save money.

Also consider the NZXT Source 310 case which is a much smaller case but still takes a full size ATX.  The only disadvantage is that is does not take CD\DVD drives but you generally don't need these days unless you need to write DVDs.  Software install can be done via USB or download as required.

I use it on my i7 build and its nice for a change to have a smaller case, rather than a huge case full of air ....

As it is for someone in their teens, I can imagine him wanting to have a 'cool' looking case.

Im looking for a gaming laptop around 500 quid, also has to be able to run pprograms like Maya and Photoshop, ive been set on this for a while, any advice?

Sorry meant it's a source 340 doh.  Yes must admit 210 looks a bit bland.  340 allows you to have window and clean lines.  I think it looks "sick"which is the new word for cool
