How will visiting others villages work?

Does that person need to be online & playing the game?

You can visit friends when they're online and roam around the village together. If they're not online I think a snapshot of their village is stored online so you can visit a 'dream' version. I'm not sure how that works exactly ( I think you need to sleep in a place in the City), but you can look around the village without affecting their actual save file (ie. running through flowers, chopping down trees etc). Not sure if you can bring back any items you find this way.

It does sound fun and something different (for me at least as I've not played any AC games). I take it things just crack on and run (relatively) smoothly if you don't play for a while? If not, my town will quickly end up looking like something out of Fallout 3!
