It's a shame that the flap doesn't work and you can't insert any NES cartridges you may still own. The Sega MegaDrive one comes with a port so if the 80 games aren't enough you can still play others. (Nintendo only giving us 30... ) Which may come in handy as they don't include Sonic 3 as one of the games, but have left in Sonic 1 and 2. Hopefully if they do a SNES version next year they have a slot for external games. Same with any N64 one they do.
My wife isn't overly impressed with me owning a PS4 (tbh, she doesn't quite "get" Doom ), but she took one look at the games on offer on the NES Classic Mini and said "hey, I can play those games, that's more like it".
So I'm definitely getting one of these (for both of us to play, of course ). The list of games is impressive with at least 16 must haves on it, so that equates to about £3 per game. I'm hoping they make enough as I wasn't going to pre-order.
The Sega ones aren't base by Sega and apparently aren't as good. Plus a load of the games on them are complete rubbish that aren't actually mega drive games.
I presume you haven't told her how brutal some NES games were, only 2 dimensions and 2 buttons didn't stop them making the titles insanely difficult, if anything I find those games harder than new ones, I don't know how I has the patience to finish any of then
Well we both remember how old games played [emoji4] and she's not scared of a little difficulty. Even though she grew up in Scotland and me in Blighty, we both grew up with the C64 and some of those games were insanely hard. I can't believe I completed ones like Auf Wiedersehen Monty, Bruce Lee, Yie Ar Kung Fu, Thrust - limited lives and few saves if any - I'm sure I'd fail miserably if I tried them today.....
.....but at least we'd have fun doing it which is why we want this console.
Even though I play modern consoles as well , she's more into old school gaming so I think it'll be a good buy
(Actually I can't wait to play ghosts'n'goblins again)
Am starting to remember how brutal some games were. Ghosts n Goblins was my nemesis. Used to take ages to load on the Spectrum and then I could manage about 15 seconds in the game ....
