In the US, it's about $20 K additional for the commercial certificate (single-engine land), another $10-15 K to upgrade that to a multi-engine commercial ticket, at least $20 K for an instrument rating, and probably another $5 K to upgrade to a single/multi commercial ticket with instrument privileges. Of course, no one is going to feel comfortable with you flying a B-737 with just a commercial license, so be prepared to spend another year or so, not to mention about $30 K, going after an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license. And, to top it all off, certain high-performance piston aircraft and all turbine (turboprop and jet) aircraft require type certification - meaning you need a type certificate for a B-737, one for a B-757, an A-319, an A-320, etc., etc, etc. |
