Lamb, goat or seafood makes the best curry anyway, chicken breast is usually just a tasteless texture in the midst of all that flavour. Chicken thighs arent too bad but given a choice its lamb for me

Had a slow cooked goat curry once - lovely !!

I'm pretty convinced that's what our (then new) neighbours used to slow cook every Sunday.
That smell was a catalyst for us moving.
I like curry, but the smell of that being slow cooked was just....oh my.....

Not a chance, if i remember correctly, it was one lamb curry, and one chicken curry.

We've had chinese and Tapas also for Xmas Dinner.  We haven't had Turkey since we stayed at my Mam's back in 2004!

Tapas style Indian food is becoming more popular up here.
Instead of one big dish for £9.95 (or whatever), you can order small portions for £3.50 each.
Great idea.

The inconsistency between restaurants is due to there being no real consistency to the Masala mix used by different families\regions throughout Asia. My Family use's a blend of herbs used in Punjabi Provinces of India\Pakistan.

The chicken the OP had was Tikka, chunks (Not Shreds) of chicken breast cooked in an Tandoori Oven. The main difference between Chicken Tikka and Chicken Tandoori is whether or not it has bones. Both are marinaded in a creamy masala sauce prior to cooking.

Ahhhhh the culinary delights that having an Indian SWMBO provides! I remember having puri and some curry for breakfast at her parents last year, the best breakfast I have EVER had! I do love curry though, went to an Indian on Xmas day last year, was great.

Are you sure this is the case?
Not all chicken done in a tandoor oven is marinaded first.
I'm sure I've had non-marinaded chicken from a tandoor oven.
They called that Tandoori chicken, then the marinaded version was called Chicken Tikka.
Two distinct versions and easily discernible.
The non-marinaded version just looks like heavily BBQ'd chicken.
The marinaded version is coloured.
