Nope. Have had it with some cheese and a bit of chilli though. Along with some sweet tea, it makes an excellent combination.

Home made pancakes on a Sunday teatime, with lemon and sugar. Or maple syrup and butter

far too good just to wait for once a year on pancake day !

I like the same but with a van Dobben croquet rather than bitterballen.

This thread is bringing back culinary memories (if you can call them that).

My Gran's deep friend potato slices, frittas we called them, in beef dripping.
My Aunty Glad's rissoles.
My mother's Welsh Cakes.
Faggots and Peas from Carpanini's in Aberdare.
All sadly gone now.

Yes agreed, a croquet would be my number 1 choice, unfortunately living in Kent, UK, I have exhausted my supply of croquetten, now down to my last tray of bitterballen.  If only the UK supermarkets would sell them

A thick slice of fresh white bread (still very warm from the oven), lightly salted butter and a slice of extra strong mature cheddar cheese. Just fold it over and eat, heaven

Plus 1 of your 5 a day, so healthy too

Can we define 'simple'. Sushi is not simple to me. Cheese/beans on toast is.

For me, rich tea biscuits with ice cold milk is as good as it gets. I don't think you can get much more simple than that.

No cooking, only prep is open carton of milk and pour, open packet of biscuits, dip and munch.
