Great thread....

Bacon sandwich, white bread, butter, no sauce. Mug of hot strong tea.
Thick sliced white toast, butter. Mug of tea.
Fried-egg sandwich - runny yoke, tomato ketchup (preferably Heinz)
Faggots & peas with thick onion gravy & mashed potatoes
Bowl of cornflakes with very cold full-fat milk (ideally, "proper" milk where about an inch of cream settles on the top).
French bread with butter.
Welsh cakes.
Bara Brith with butter.
Rich Tea biccies dunked in tea.

My favourite Tomato and brown sauces are from Tiptree (more commonly known for their jams) bit pricier but worth it (unless you go through gallons of the stuff! )

Stew!

Either with dumplings or perhaps a Yorkshire pudding or maybe just a slice of bread and lashings of Hendersons Relish

can't stand stew but I'll eat it if it comes with dumplings, proper dumplings though, suet and sit like a brick in your stomach!

I'd say so! Especially if you just chuck all the ingredients in a slow cooker and leave it all day!! Yummy! It's one good reason to look forward to the cold weather!

I'll agree with you on that.

There is something very satisfying about coming back from a cold day out to a slow cooked Cawl.

It doesn't get much simpler than chucking everything in a pot and leaving it for 8 hours.

Talking about 'simple' I was watching that saturday cooking programme (ITV I think) whilst waiting on my MOT last week. They did fried chicken, really simple, just roll it in breadcrumbs and throw it in the fryer. The presenter guy was saying he did something with the Army once and they used to throw a whole chicken in a fryer as it was. Gonna have to try that sometime lol
