My Mrs has become addicted to the clearance shelves. The stuff on or very close to date. Almost anything you can freeze she will buy. Makes for some 'interesting' meals

Ours doesn't have online individual prices.  They have various packs - for example £50 gets you:

four chicken legs, bacon steaks, pork chops, lamb chops, steak and kidney puddings
1lb beef mince, sausages, beef topside, back bacon

23 quid gets you 6kg of fillet chicken breasts at my local. Good as well. Not like those silicone implants that most supermarkets sell as 'chicken'.

For myself and one dog I normally spend between £35 - £40 per week.

generally try to get own brand items where I can to save a few pennies or at least try them once (Found Tesco Oaties aren't anywhere near as good as proper hob knobs but Tesco tomato sauce is exactly the same as the Heinz stuff).

We eat a lot of pulses, lentils, beans, chick peas etc as my wife is a vegetarian and I am a ceoliac. We eat a lot of prawns and fish but I only eat meat at work or out for a meal/takeaway. That's very rarely we eat out/takeaway though, maybe once every 2 months.

Chicken is £20.99, steaks £4.09 each, bacon £2 and mince £3.09 per lb. (all from memory but its within a couple of £ altogether) it's quality UK stuff as well, not dubious cheap rubbish.

I've actually got a few people at work ordering stuff from them as well now as its so much cheaper and better quality than the supermarkets.
