Yup, it's pointless spending that aount of money without getting a fitting or knowing what you need. Part of the reason Asics and the like are so expensive is because of the way they're specific to certain gait/running styles. If you don't buy the right ones it's at best a waste of money and at worst possibly injury-inducing. When I started running I was led to believe that everyone over-pronated, and it was only when I did myself an injustice by going over on my ankle that I learned I was one of the few who under-pronate.
If you're anywhere near Cheshire Oaks, you can get a fitting and some great deals on Asics stuff at their outlet. I was there a couple of weeks back, the staff were very good. |
