Gin doesn't need garnishes, but they can certainly enhance it. Often they don't even add that much flavour, but we also taste with our eyes and it can have a perceptible effect.
Also depends on the gin; Brockmans is bursting with so much fruit it doesn't need anything (but I still usually use blackberries), and others such as Monkey 47 which are so overtly complex, simply don't benefit from any garnish. |
