Do you not think that by moving the Embassy, the US has done the opposite and created even more tensions than which already existed?
I’ve just watched a news report from Jerusalem showing Nationalist Israeli’s marching through the streets of Jerusalem, clearly taunting Palestinians as they went in a ‘traditonal’ march. The reporter then interviewed an Israeli in the street and he refused to even call them Palestinians, instead only refering to them as ‘Arabs’. The reporter pulled him up on this and, after being asked several times, the guy stated that they are Arabs because “there is no such thing as Palestinian people”. With attitudes like that (I’m sure there would be an equal response from similar-minded Palestinians before anyone here takes offence) how is this ever going to be anything but a divided country(ies)? |
