Unless you want to restart the troubles, then it's a non starter going after Terrorists. What do you think the various Terrorist groups in Northern Ireland will do ? Sit back and twiddle their thumbs ? The Peace in Northern Ireland is fragile. I'm not missing how one sided it is, I just realise no matter how painful it is, the alternative would have been a continuation of the troubles. With more death and destruction. I sat through 3 or 4 IRA bomb scares in Oxford. Very close by, as they liked to plant bombs in the old car park or made hoax calls. I'll never forget the stillness and silence after the car park had been emptied. It was shattered by a loud bang via the Army Bomb disposal squad. Chills me to the bone, just lucky that Oxford was not devastated by IRA bombs. |
