UKIP: Veils 'barrier to integration'

UKIP's proposed ban on full veils worn by some Muslim women has "great public support", the party's deputy leader has claimed.

Why are you digging up old quotes AGAIN, especially when they are not relative, in context to what is quoted or give a false impression.

1) You quoted me making a satirical post mocking UKIP in response to YOUR assumed satirical post inferring Momentum supporters would purchase a Nazi logo football shirt.

2) You dig up an old post where I expressed support for a ban on the full face coverings in a genuine argument.

3) You ignore the fact that I posted previously in this thread where I expressed my agreement that a full face ban has a legitamet argument in favor of it.

My issue with Boris Johnson or any other politician is the lack of diplomacy, tact and sensitivity by mocking wearers of full face coverings, since he is supposed to represent the public and is in a position of power - not the argument that full face coverings are right or wrong.

Since you only posted quotes and made no actual comment yourself:
what exactly are you trying to say, imply or achieve ?

Why has the Commissioner of the Met Police announced that Johnson wouldn’t be prosecuted? Was there ever any suggestion that he would be?  I assume she will be wading in to the Labour Anti-Semitism argument next to rule on Corbyn, to ensure full impartiality.

Nothing he said is illegal, that's absurd, who's calling for an arrest?

Why does everybody over react these day?

People are either apathetic, or level 11 rage.

He was reported to the police for a hate crime.

Which cheapens actual hate crime.

Edit : link to one source showing he was reported. Boris Johnson reported to the police over burqa remarks

Just heard that on the radio and thought the same. I can't recall anyone calling for his arrest.
Edit: I see it seems one person has reported him.

A question for those defending his comments here though.

How many here have publicly mocked a Muslim woman? (or any other member/s of a religion/culture etc)

That's a little bit priceless.

'Hate crime' will be up there with 'Islamaphobia' by the end of the year as two previously serious accusations that no longer even raise an eyebrow, well done snowflakes.

He did the same to me, dug up an old 2013 post of mine to prove his point. Unfortunately the old post had no relationship to what was being discussed.

I said nothing then, but it is a favoured method of his to try and throw your own words back at you.

I have never publicly mocked someone who wasn't friend or family.

But he didn't mock anyone. He mocked an outfit, not the person in it.

Can't you also argue that it's the 'normalisation' of these attitudes by the likes of Johnson in public that demeans the seriousness of other hate crimes?  While you're right in that some people's reactions may be a bit knee-jerk, the fact that supposedly high-ranking British Government officials are brushing off calls to apologise, including from his actual boss (whether they feel they've done no wrong) is a problem.
