I live in an ultra safe Conservative constituency. Firstly, if we haven't left the EU, then there is no point in voting. Politicians would have failed to implement a democratic mandate for the first time in British political history, and would have therefore shown voters that voting for something won't work. It would be anarchy.
If Theresa's fudge goes ahead somehow then, as it is effectively soft remain, I would vote for a party still offering Brexit. I would even ignore their other policies no matter how extreme, because they would have demonstrated that they respect democracy.
If we end up leaving the EU and its institutions as was voted for, then it would depend on how that came about.
In summary, the Conservatives are not conservative. Just look at their ridiculous policies with ever higher tax and spend and high immigration levels, they might as well be led by Tony Blair. Labour haven't represented 'labour' for decades and are just the middle-class virtue-signalling party these days. The Liberal Democrats are not liberal or democratic, they want to overturn a democratic result, which as I said above has never happened before.
All this shows is that we desperate need a realignment of politics in this country because the legacy parties are not as advertised. The only mainstream party that is really what it says on the tin is UKIP. They have good policies, but they need to be far more professional, and I don't think they are capable of being so. |
