But that's the problem; unless you can bring such people along with you any alteration to the current border arrangements is going to cause problems.

You should remember what a remarkable and transformative achievement the GFA was. Lives saved, peace largely achieved, prosperity increased.

I wouldn't do anything to jeopardise that.

No I would not, but I also wouldn’t be held to ransom for something that really in practical terms doesn’t have to be an issue. Things change it’s just a border.

It's in the hands of Westminster to carry out the directives and regulations issued by Brussels. Westminster is legally bound to act and implement the directives.

The EU is the governing body, Westminster carries out its orders.

Why not change the word "Border" to "Hub".
This is a much friendlier word .
And use this as a chance to generate jobs, importance and prosperity to N.I.

The EU defines our taxes to a degree. It limits how much we can reduce VAT for example.

The EU is also terrified that an independent UK would slash taxes to attempt to become like a giant Singapore. I suspect that would be politically unsalable as it would mean big cuts to services, but it's enough of a threat to have Barnier and co worried.
