Funny you have this view. LBC are making the point that UKIP have moved on from being a single issue party and they might be the third UK party if the Libdems don't recover. The SNP didn't disappear after the Scottish Referendum either. If the EU referendum meant we left, UKIP might carry on pushing for how we leave. If we stay in then UKIP might carry on as the SNP have done. Either way there's no reason for them to go other than if their support or their financiers totally disappear.

No, but the SNP are highly competent and effective - plus were also decisively winning elections prior to the referendum. UKIP are, at least under current leadership, of limited appeal and with a declining vote.

They have gone from being almost nowhere in 2010 (less than 1 million votes) to the party of opposition in over a 100 seats. Their first council too. Hardly declining.

UKIP did one thing - they made the two main parties a little less certain.
I would say overall this election has been good for democracy.

I was just saying that the reason the party had such a huge vote was down to a couple of issues (very important ones) which have been taken up by the main parties.  I hope they do regroup and become Britain's third party, and good luck to them. Also hope Farage stays on as he would be a big loss if he goes.

Actually, I thought their manifesto was pretty good for a new party.

UKIP had 3.9 million votes per seat, the SNP had 26,000 votes per seat.

Ukip increased its vote share by more than any other other party in 469 constituencies across the UK.

The map also shows Labour's gains in 72 seats across the country - which weren't enough to win it a majority.

I'm sure very few people would admit to being a kipper. But even if there are none, we certainly have Europhobes who must surely have a view? The UKIP leader will be the head and face of the Out! campaign - as Tories, Labour, the Lib Dem rump, Greens etc are all pro-EU - so is Farage the best person to do that.
