I think you missed the point about record low unemployment levels.  If there aren't enough British workers to fill the now unfilled roles, training isn't the issue.  Don't worry though, we can just recruit people from outside the EU instead once the visa threshold is dropped to a more realistic figure.

and you missed the point about training our own people. in the long run its better for the country than the quick fix of importing staff.
low unemployment is still not full employment, there are about 1.3 million unemployed in britain.
