I am in no way saying the air-strikes will be effective. In fact I would err on the side of caution. On balance we should leave it to the powers in the region and the UN.
However, there is no doubt that ISIS is a big threat to stability in the region and should be stopped. MPs took a vote and it was passed.
No-one in their right might condones ISIS modus operandi and they have been condemned in all quarters.
The point about this particular MP resigning is that she is a Muslim. She has resigned because she feels solidarity with Muslims. Even though the area in question, i.e. the Middle east, is pretty much all Muslim and the fight was Muslim against Muslim (until we joined) she has chosen to make it a Muslim cause in the UK which is unwise, leads to splits in our society by making out the fight against ISIS is a fight against all Muslims- which it is not. |
