^^^ Are you starting to get a bit dubious about Exaro's objectivity? I am. Mark Watts' appearances and statements are starting to grate ... no surprise he was with Press TV for a while and appears on RT now and again.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

I've read posts on these forums saying things like  "everything will come crashing down once all these politicians have been exposed. All bets are off for the next election. This will bring down the Tories - Dave/ Thatcher etc"

I doubt this will be the case..... because many will be unknown to the public, unless you are older than most or interested in political history.

Edward Heath has already been mentioned and it hardly affected the current political scene.
Lessor known figures? - probably just headlines.

Heath was, by all accounts, asexual so there wasn't a scandal to break.

Thatcher's already been tarnished by it - she did protect a paedophile close to her, making him her closest aide, and was well aware and briefed on other establishment paedophiles from official documents made public.

I'm also dubious about the Heath allegations.

It's the ongoing cover up that will cause damage ... much more so than the expenses scandal ever did.

It doesn't matter if they're well known or not. It's the scale at which such figures were let off with cautions (or not even that) for raping children, that will disgust the public.

I don't doubt we will all be disgusted as we were with with JS. But will this affect the current politicians? Did Cyril Smith damage the the current Libdems as a party, - hardly.

I think David Steel's original dismissal of the Cyril Smith allegations as harmless spanking, and Clegg's earlier deference to Smith probably caused some damage

Current politicians won't be blamed but Parliament is still full of earlier generations. It will affect the Tory party imho - seen as the party of establishment, with the Eton brigade at the top. Corbyn will also be damaged by his inaction in Islington
An open letter to Jeremy Corbyn on child abuse - John MannJeremy Corbyn accused of inaction over paedophile scandal - TelegraphI didn't mean disgust at the actual abuse, which should be a given, I meant at the scale of the cover up
- the numbers involved, abusers and their positions in the establshment (MPs, judges, senior civil servants, intelligence officers, diplomats, royal household, etc) and the institutions that protected them (the office of the PM, the civil service, the judiciary, the Met, the CPS etc)
