Apparently, solicitors ostensibly representing the management company had threatened legal action against residents who had been complaining about the safety of the building. This same company, allegedly, had chosen a cladding material that was £6250 cheaper than a fire safe alternative, is run by wealthy individuals receiving 6 figure salaries who are living in £2million pound homes and under investigation from HRMC for tax avoiding scams. To cap it all the residents are to receive a paltry £5000000 pounds to alleviate their misery whilst the Queen gets £650000000 just to renovate her palace, all courtesy of the tax payer.I am not having a go at her, at least she turned up and it was quite noticeable the residents were suitably impressed but I can fully understand why there is a growing sense of anger at the sheer injustice of it all

Just come across this on Facebook. Not sure of the source, so can't bought for it's accuracy, just putting it out there.

from a post ...I have just stumbled across this tweet in regard the recent deaths in the tower block fire. I just thought I would put it out there for your reading:
Not my research - just a copy and paste from a Spectator poster:
1 - the block of flats was run not by any council but by KCTMO. This body
is made up of 8 TENANTS, 4 councilors and 3 independent members.
2 - Lbour hold the seat that the block is situated in.
3 - Labour run the London Council who manage the under funded London Fire Service
4 - incidentally Emma Coad the sitting Labour MP for that ward also sat on the KCTMO.
5 - the advise to stay put which Sadiq Khan has been so vocal about was given by the London Fire Service.
6 - the decision to change contractors during the refurb was made by KCTMO.
7 - the decision not to spend a paltry £138k on fitting sprinklers again KCTMO.
8 - the decision to create ALMO organisation such as the KCTMO was made under the Right To Manage legislation passed in 2002
as part of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act.
9 - this was put in place to give leasehold tenants a greater say and the ability to self manage, which has clearly proven to be a disaster.
10 - and which Govt was in a charge when this law was passed? Yup you guessed it Labour.
11 - Sadiq Khan as mayor of London Produced a report to say that the fire service did not need further funding.
12 -Emma Coad elected Labour MP was on the board of the Tenant Management group who are being accused of not listening to tenants. (copied from Tina Brooker

Lol, how long have Labour held the seat where the tower block is situated??

I'm assuming that your not a fan of Labour going by your posts....

Edit: Also a quick Google shows that she was on the board until 2012, I'm pretty sure the cladding was only recently put onto the tower block so why would her being on the board have any relevance to it.

what is trolling about pointing out what the media themselves are? Then again we all have our opinions about them

No, I'm not a fan of Labour, what I thought was most interesting was how the KCTMO was made up, 8 tenants, 4 councillors and 3 independent.

The decision about changing contractors and not fitting sprinklers made by the KCTMO, so before we start flinging blame at conservative or labour or whoever, *if* true, we may need to look a bit closer to home.

What councillors are currently on the board that would be more interesting than someone who was on it 5 years ago and 4 years before the improvements happened.

The tenants themselves hold the majority of seats on the KCTMO.

I understand that but your post mentions Coad who doesn't even sit on it, her being on the board 5 years ago isn't relevant.

What is relevant is the councillors that currently sit on the board, if there's a couple of them on the board then I fully expect one from both major parties.

Also the point raised about it being a Labour seat is laughable as they have held it for how many days......
