I agree because the media and politicians are turning this into such a politically driven disaster, their behaviour is intensely more worst then the Manchester bombing, it clear to see and dispicable.

This thread should be closed. Blaming May is a method to kick her out and Labour to get in, and then no doubt stop Brexit..

May is no obstacle to attempts to frustrate Brexit - she has no power whatsoever.

The difference is, one is a private business with its own agenda, the other is a publicly funded broadcaster that should be neutral, not a leftie mouthpiece.

I created it to avoid the "what will you vote" thread being taken over and to gauge people's reactions to the tragedy. Without naming names, some have reacted with a depressing predictability.  I will leave it open for now to give people a chance to express an opinion who may not have had a chance, but I fear that the best thing will then be to close it until some progress in the investigation has been made.

There was a chain of interconnected events that eventually led to this happening, just like the Bradford fire disaster and Hillsborough, these disasters led to changes in design and management of the public using these structures. It's quite obvious the processes involved in the management of this building failed, quite simply because it burnt down..
Take for instance the rubbish accumulated on the corridors and stairwells, why, why was it there, why was it not removed. The smoke extraction system failed to remove the smoke, why, the gas pipe ruptured, hampering the fire fighters, why? Why was the fire not contained in the flat, that process failed.
These events don't happen in isolation, knocking a glass of milk over is an accident, the deaths of people in a high rise fire is not an accident.

Looking at the amount of money being given by the government and donated privately, if you divide it by the number of affected families it looks likely they will all be able to privately rent their own property for many years to come, and to a much better standard than their previous place...and that doesn't include the compensation payments which are also likely to be substantial. If the money is handled and distributed quickly and correctly at least their financial security is pretty much assured and gives a solid foundation upon which to pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives.

The Sun uses crap headlines to sell papers, the majority of which are lies.

Why don't they run a story about the money that was saved or the fact MP's voted against making the tower block safe instead of going on about who's fridge it was  its hardly the owners of the fridges fault that it had a fault and definitely not his fault a simple fridge fire turned a tower block into an inferno.

Did I say it was just the tory government??

There was probably Labour MP's that voted against it as well so they should all be held accountable. The issue I have is with a paper running a story about who's fridge it is.

What if had been a Hotpoint tumble dryer?   Out of 120 homes it wouldn't surprise me if there hadn't been at least one with the defect still being used.  A rather irrelevant what if scenario, but I'd imagine the finger pointing would be rather different.

I thought I heard one of the survivors saying the fire started in his neighbours kitchen on the 4th storey , sure he mentioned it was a faulty fridge though ....  kinda surprised nothing has been followed up on his statement live on Sky News
