I’m not insinuating anything with regards to your ancestors. My point was that, certainly in the U.K., many working/lower class family lines don’t have documented lineage that far. My parents traced theirs with a local historian and, once they reached the early to mid-1800’s records were few and far between. In contrast, families that would traditionally be seen as upper class have much more ancestral documents as those families were considered above everyone else. |
